Our Opportunity
Flint Energy Services Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic leader for a challenging opportunity as an Instrumentation Manager for our Fort St. John Operations Centre.
Reporting to the GM, Electrical & Instrumentation, your primary functions will be to provide instrumentation leadership and technical expertise, expand the operating centre’s instrumentation business, mentor and coach instrumentation foreman, and ensure all corporate procedures and policies are followed.

Some key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain instrumentation relationships with customers;
• Identify business opportunities;
• Overall responsibility for the profitability of the instrumentation group in Fort St. John;
• Interface with field operations instrumentation staff;
• Assist in recruiting and staffing the operations with appropriately skilled instrumentation staff;
• Be an ambassador of Flint with our valued suppliers;
• Promote open communication between operating centers and all instrumentation employees;
• Lead, coach, and mentor an instrumentation team of between 6 - 15 employees;
• Assist with the implementation of consistent bid and construction processes;
• Assist in the maintenance of Flint tools and calibration equipment;
• Implement business strategies that align with corporate financial goals;
• Build awareness of industry codes and regulations that effect the instrumentation division;
• Support the implementation of Flint’s safety management system;
• Ensure that Flint’s QA/QC system is followed and understood by all instrumentation staff.

The following skills, experience, and education are strongly desired:

• Post secondary diploma/degree in Instrumentation from an accredited university, college or technical school;
• Red Seal Inter-Provincial Journeyman trade certification in Instrumentation from a provincial apprenticeship program;
• A C.E.T designation with an instrument controls/automation focus;
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a previous supervisory or management role in an industrial maintenance or construction environment;
• Proven skill set to lead , develop and mentor a team;
• Strong communication skills (includes public speaking skills);
• An ability to lead and train others in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.
